Betera - just a short distance from the A7 motorway with good connections to Barcelona,  Alicante and the airport, and just  20 minutes by car to Valencia City and the beaches.
Betera is one of the larger towns and has all of the amenities you would require such as supermarkets, bars, restaurants and shops, there is also a train station which takes you straight into the heart of Valencia.
During the month of August a fiesta is held in celebration of the Virgin of Asunci ón, this is normally held over a period of 10 days where processions and parades take place.
Within Betera, built on a former orange plantage you have the Escorpión Club De Golf, designed by Ron Kirby and built in 1975 the course offers 18 holes and is open all year round. The Club also has a newly renovated clubhouse and other amenities include a swimming pool and childrens ’ playground.
Nearby to Betera you have the Sierra Calderona Natural Park which is one of the largest in the Community of Valencia. Covering over 60,000 hectacres and containing a wealth of flora and fauna as well as endangered species such as the legendary peregrine falcon, the eagle owl and Bonelli ’s eagle.
The mountains within this area stretch up to 1,000 metres high and one of the best viewpoints is the Pico del Garbi, from here on a clear day you can see a wide expanse of th Mediterranean from Cabo de Oropesa (Castell ón) to Cabo de San Antonio (Alicante).
The sleepy mountain villages of Naquera and Serra with their cobbled streets and roadside cafes and bars are a delight to visit anytime of the year and the views across Valencia are magnificent.
Around the areas of the Sierra Calderona there are more then 50 caves and abandoned mines that have been found and there are also many walks and forest trails.
